In partnership with:

Is technology working for you?
Is technology working for your district?

Would you like to make an impact in the design of technology support requirements for schools in Pennsylvania?

Join us online in either of two formats to discuss to discuss and redefine technology support for schools that will enable 21st Century learning.

  • The blog asks for comments on the ways that technology support should be defined, who should provide it and how should they be prepared.  The discussion will close in mid-April, 2007, so that we can prepare a report for PA schools, districts, universities and the department of education (PDE).  Click on Blog on the left side of the screen.

  • The database contains the data gathered at a series of meetings held throughout the state of PA from March through May of 2006.  In the database, you are welcome to comment on specific criteria listed and add criteria as you see necessary.  Click on Workshops, then on the underlined links on the bottom half of the page.

Past Events
  • From March through May of 2006, educators gathered in a series of six regional forums to discuss and redefine technology support that will enable 21st Century learning in schools.  This was the preliminary data used to create the blog topics.

  • At these meetings, we attempted to create a set of criteria for schools to use in providing technology support for student learning, for school administration and for teacher learning, including possible job criteria for technology support personnel.

  • A follow up session was held on Tuesday, February 13 from 10:30-11:30 am at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, PA. The meeting was held in conjunction with PETE&C (Pa. Educational Technology Expo and Conference.)

  • A final work session will be held in April, where the data will be gathered and interpreted to prepare for the final report.

  • Everyone (teachers, administrators, higher ed, tech support, vendors, parents, really – everyone!)  interested in technology support in schools is welcome to join the discussion by providing responses to the database or the blogs described above!
